Hello Everyone! Recently, my Wife and I visited Dallas, a city full of surprises!
Dallas is big but friendly, with so many cool places to see and eat. We went there last summer, from June 2nd to the 9th. Let me tell you all about our adventures in this great Texas town!
We started our journey on a sunny morning at Dallas Love Field Airport. The airport was big but easy-to-navigate. My wife and I boarded the shuttle buses that took us directly to downtown Dallas, where we got into a taxi quickly for our hotel check-in.
Our first stop in Dallas was Deep Ellum – an artsy neighborhood with lots of cool bars and restaurants. We went there on the 3rd. There’s something special about this place; it feels like you can see history right before your eyes! It has been around since the 1920s, which is really old but still full of life today.
For our first dinner in Deep Ellum, we tried a little food truck called The Flying Saucer. We had their smoked brisket sandwiches and it was amazing! Tender meat with perfect spices – yummy! Food from the truck is affordable too; both of us paid around $10 each for our meals. That’s a great deal, don’t you think?
After dinner, we took a stroll on Elm Street, where there are lots of street performers and shops to explore. There was even an outdoor concert one evening that night! It felt like walking through history while enjoying some tunes from local musicians.
One thing you need to know about Dallas is it’s really warm in the summer months – June can get hot, so bring a hat and sunscreen if you plan on spending time outdoors. And don’t forget your water bottle; staying hydrated is crucial for your health!
The 4th of our trip was spent at The Six Pillars Dallas (6PDX) – an amazing shopping and dining experience with a rooftop bar, food hall, and lounge area. We had dinner here that night. Our order included BBQ ribs, fried chicken sandwiches, and some delicious sides like mac ‘n’ cheese and sweet potato fries. All the meals were around $40 per person. Yum!
6PDX is a great place to hang out with friends or family while shopping at the mall below. It has an indoor pool too, so if you have kids who love swimming, it’s perfect for them! Remember to check their operating hours before heading there; we almost missed dinner one night because of this oversight.
We also visited Dallas Zoo on the 5th – a great place for families with young children or animal lovers like my wife and I. It has lots of different animals, including big cats! Just make sure to bring sunscreen again; it can get really hot under those trees watching lions. We spent about $10 each for our meals at the zoo’s food court – not too bad when you think about all the fun we had.
On the 6th, my wife and I decided to take a trip out of Dallas. We drove to Arlington City Park, where there are lots of nature trails and picnic areas. There are playgrounds for kids too! My advice is that you should bring snacks if planning on staying longer; the park has vendors but we wanted something more familiar with us.
Wardrobe wise, I would recommend comfortable clothes and shoes as well because there’ll be lots of walking involved.
On our last night in Dallas, my wife and I went to Pappasito’s Cantina – a popular Mexican restaurant chain known for its giant margaritas! We ordered some guacamole tacos and shared a round of margaritas; it was a fun experience sharing this meal together.
Dallas has lots more than just food, but my wife and I enjoyed our time there immensely. Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, Dallas is a great city to explore with your loved ones! It has something to offer everyone – from shopping enthusiasts to history buffs and nature lovers alike.
When traveling to new places, always remember to pack healthy snacks, wear comfortable clothes, stay hydrated in the heat, and keep an eye on local operating hours for attractions you’re interested in visiting. And don’t forget: travel is all about creating memories with those who matter most!
Overall, we had a fantastic time discovering Dallas together, my wife and I. We can’t wait to go back someday – maybe even try out some other local food spots or visit the state-of-the-art AT&T Performing Arts Center. Till then, keep exploring!
